Welcome to the Greenlee Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) website. Our chapter was organized on November 9, 1935, in Old Fort, North Carolina. Our members are committed to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. We enjoy our volunteer activities and are proud to make a difference in the lives of our community, state, and country.

In addition to our regular meetings, our chapter sponsors educational awards and scholarships. We support Crossnore Communities for Children and volunteer with our veterans. We honor our revolutionary ancestors, recognize outstanding citizens in our area, and sponsor history essays.

Each member is a direct descendant of a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War.

The Greenlee Chapter, NSDAR, participates in patriotic parades in the local communities. Members enjoy dressing up in period clothing and celebrating events like the adoption of the United States Declaration of Independence.

The Historic Carson House was built in 1793 by Colonel John Carson. It was opened to the public in 1964 as a museum and a library. Chapter members support and attend many historical activities held here.

The Greenlee Chapter, NSDAR, supports the Crossnore Communities for Children with donations to assist with Christmas gifts, clothing, school supplies, and personal items the children need.
